| Harvey Weinstein receives the W.E.B. Du Bois medal inwards 2014 |
The Executive Committee of the Hutchins Center for African as well as African American Research, a grouping of v professors that unanimously voted to honour Weinstein the medal 3 years ago, voted Tuesday black to rescind the medal.
“We bring voted unanimously to rescind the Du Bois Medal awarded to Mr. Weinstein inwards 2014. We stand upwards alongside the women who bring courageously come upwards frontward to create create for themselves as well as indeed for all of those who bring experienced like abuse,” the grouping wrote inwards a statement.
The Du Bois medal is Harvard’s highest honour for contributions to African as well as African-American culture. Previous winners include Oprah Winfrey, Muhammad Ali, as well as Maya Angelou.
